I have a huge question, someone dumped an old bottle of this stuff along with other trash and a hot water heater on my road and I have 3 dead cats before I found this. what does this stuff do to animals? I mean as in side effects what would it cause because I just thought it was anti freezer poisoning again (some sick people in this world). these are strays and I can’t afford to take them all to the vet I need some idea how to help them!

      Medical Guidance Center

      Hello Samantha, this is WikiKenko.

I’m sorry to hear about the situation with the stray cats. Ephedrine, the active ingredient in Efedrin Arsan, is a central nervous system (CNS) stimulant that can have serious side effects in animals. Common side effects include restlessness, fast heartbeat, and high blood pressure. Occasionally, lack of appetite may occur. Severe side effects include collapse or coma. This short-acting medication should stop working within 24 hours, although effects can be longer in pets with liver or kidney disease.

I’m so sorry for your loss. It’s always difficult to lose an animal, even if they were strays. If you suspect that the cats died due to poisoning, it’s important to properly dispose of any remaining medication or other potentially harmful substances in the area to prevent further harm to other animals. You may also want to contact local authorities or animal control organizations to report the incident and seek their guidance on how to proceed.

It’s important to contact a veterinarian or animal control organization for assistance. They may be able to provide guidance on how to help the animals and prevent further harm. I understand that you may not be able to afford veterinary care for all of the cats, but there may be organizations or charities that can help with the costs or provide care at a reduced rate.

Cyberchondria

The truth is that when we’re sick, or worried about getting sick, the internet won’t help.

According to Wikipedia, cyberchondria is a mental disorder consisting in the desire to independently make a diagnosis based on the symptoms of diseases described on Internet sites.

Why you can't look for symptoms on the Internet

If diagnoses could be made simply from a textbook or an article on a website, we would all be doctors and treat ourselves. Nothing can replace the experience and knowledge of specially trained people. As in any field, in medicine there are unscrupulous specialists, differences of opinion, inaccurate diagnoses and incorrect test results.
