Each film-coated tablet of Dolarit contains 400 mg of Etodolac, along with microcrystalline cellulose, lactose monohydrate (obtained from cow’s milk), polyvinyl pyrrolidone, sodium starch glycolate, colloidal silicon dioxide, magnesium stearate, polyvinyl alcohol, polyethylene glycol, tribasic calcium phosphate, talc, and titanium dioxide as excipients.
Usage
Dolarit Film Coated Tablet 400 Mg is primarily used to treat inflammation-related conditions. It is effective for the treatment of osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, acute gouty arthritis, acute musculoskeletal pain, postoperative pain, and dysmenorrhea (painful menstruation).
How it Works
Etodolac, the active ingredient in Dolarit, selectively inhibits COX-2, which is responsible for the production of prostaglandins, the molecules responsible for inflammation, fever, and pain. By inhibiting COX-2, Dolarit reduces the production of prostaglandins, thereby reducing inflammation, fever, and pain.
Precautions
Before using Dolarit, it is important to note that it should not be used if you are allergic to any of its components or if you have experienced a severe allergic reaction to any drug from the drug group that includes aspirin or Dolarit (such as ibuprofen or celecoxib). It should also not be used if you are in the last 3 months of pregnancy or if you have had stomach ulcers in the past.
Side Effects
Like all medications, Dolarit may cause side effects. Some common side effects include nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, diarrhea, constipation, gas, dizziness, headache, and drowsiness. In rare cases, it may cause serious side effects such as stomach bleeding, liver damage, and kidney damage. If you experience any serious side effects or symptoms of an allergic reaction, such as difficulty breathing or swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat, seek immediate medical attention.
Conclusion
Dolarit Film Coated Tablet 400 Mg is a medication that contains Etodolac, a selective COX-2 inhibitor that is effective in reducing inflammation, fever, and pain. It is indicated for the treatment of various inflammation-related conditions, including osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, acute gouty arthritis, acute musculoskeletal pain, postoperative pain, and dysmenorrhea.
