Description
Usage
Apfecto Eye Drop Suspension 0.3% is a topical nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) used to alleviate pain and inflammation associated with cataract surgery. It works by reducing the production of certain chemicals in the body that cause pain and inflammation.
Dosage and Administration
It is important to use Apfecto Eye Drop Suspension 0.3% exactly as directed by your doctor. One drop of the suspension should be applied to the affected eye once daily beginning one day prior to cataract surgery, continued on the day of surgery, and through the first two weeks of the postoperative period. An additional drop should be administered 30 to 120 minutes before surgery.
How to Use
Before using Apfecto Eye Drop Suspension 0.3%, make sure to shake it well and wash your hands. Tilt your head back and use your index finger to pull the lower eyelid away from the eye to create a pouch. Drop the medicine into the pouch and close your eye for 1 to 2 minutes. Use a clean tissue to remove any excess medicine around your eye, being careful not to touch your eye. To avoid contamination, do not touch the applicator tip to any surface, including your eye. Wash your hands thoroughly after use and keep the container tightly closed.
If you will be using Apfecto to treat both eyes after surgery, be sure to use a separate bottle for each eye. Do not wear contact lenses while using Apfecto, and use it at least 5 minutes apart from any other medicine that you put in your eye.
If you miss a dose of Apfecto, use it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dosing schedule. Do not use two doses at once.
Precautions
Before using Apfecto Eye Drop Suspension 0.3%, inform your doctor if you are allergic to any other eye drops or if you have diabetes, dry eye syndrome, arthritis, or a bleeding or blood-clotting disorder such as hemophilia. Do not use this medication while wearing contact lenses, as it may contain a preservative that can discolor soft contact lenses. Wait at least 15 minutes after using this medicine before putting in your contact lenses.
To prevent infection, do not touch the tip of the eye dropper or place it directly on your eye. If you experience any side effects, consult your healthcare professional immediately.
